How we evaluated

- Language: English / Chinese / Vietnamese support
- Business model: ads vs freemium vs premium
- Trust signals: review volume, update cadence, clear publisher info
Best for online rated play
Choose an app with active matchmaking and clear ratings. Xiangqi Titans targets live ranked (Glicko-2) across Bullet/Blitz/Rapid/Classical, plus casual and friends games. Xiangqi.com’s app is a proven English online option with an established community. Newer apps may have thinner peak-hour liquidity — if queues are empty, use AI and puzzles until the player pool grows.
Best for beginners & chess players switching over
Look for interactive lessons, gentle AI, and daily puzzles — not only multiplayer. Xiangqi Titans ships an interactive Learn path with guided sessions, plus puzzles and AI. Xiangqi One and Xiangqi.com also market learn + puzzle paths. Pair any app with a short rules guide (How to play Xiangqi) and a chess-player bridge (Xiangqi for chess players), or jump straight into Titans’ interactive lessons.
Best for endgame & tactics grinding
HangXun’s endgame-focused apps are the category specialists. If your goal is residual technique and composed 残局, prioritize study apps even if the UI feels less “esports.”
Best for Vietnam (cờ tướng)
Apps that put CoTuong / cờ tướng in the title and UI win local search. CoTuong/XiangQi-style listings dominate that query cluster.
Why consider Xiangqi Titans
Xiangqi Titans (象棋戰神) is built as a modern online client: interactive Learn sessions, live rated matches, AI opponents, daily puzzles, training courses, and post-game review with an AI Coach report. The free tier includes ranked play, AI, puzzles, and limited daily reviews/drills; Premium unlocks unlimited reviews, deeper engine lines, and in-game hints. It’s ad-free by positioning — useful if you want a cleaner board than many high-volume ad-supported clients.
